Elton John's Oscar Party and a reader comment

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/gossip/2011/02/elton-john-2011-academy-awards-viewing-party-chris-colfer-oscars.html

A blurb from the LA Times blog:
"Every year, Elton and partner David Furnish populate their table -- clearly No. 1, but technically table No. 43 -- with a face that has defined the year's entertainment zeitgeist. In 2010, it was Betty White; this time, it's Chris Colfer. What a feather in the "Glee" star's Golden Globe-winning cap."

Elton had posted a youtube video after the Golden Globes where he gave a shout out to Chris about his acceptance speech.

And I thought this was a great comment posted after the blog by someone named "Sarah":
"Zeitgeist: The Spirit of the Times. Interesting. I remember reading somewhere that Jane Lynch compared Chris Colfer to an 80 year old grandma and that Darren Cris compared him to a wood nymph. Both comparisons seem to be true.

Chris Colfer is a source of healing, even if that's nothing he aspired to. He brings the face of innocence to the very heated, sometimes very ugly national and international debate on Gay rights, as well as on Human rights.

Quite a lot on one young man's shoulders. I hope Ryan Murphy appreciates all of this and works to keep Chris both grounded and sane."

My thoughts exactly. It is a lot for a guy so young and so new to fame. He seems to be handling it all remarkably well.
